*To add any file or folder to your backup, simply right-click on the folder or file and select ‘Back this up’ from the Carbonite menu.
Carbonite tells you which folders are backed up and which are not by placing little dots next to the file. See the table below. If there isn’t a dot it means the file is not backed up.
A green dot on a file indicates that the file has been backed up.
A yellow dot on a file indicates that the file is selected for backup, but backup is pending (has not yet completed).
A green dot on a folder indicates that all of the folder's contents have been marked for backup and that backup of all items within the folder has completed.
A green donut on a folder indicates that only some of the folder's contents have been marked for backup and that backup of those items has completed. Some of the folder's files or sub-folders have not been selected for backup.
A yellow dot on a folder indicates that the folder contains files or subfolders that have been selected for backup, but backup is pending (has not yet completed).
Note: If you delete a file from your computer, Carbonite will remove it from our servers within 30 days
